The Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Honoursble Ochor Christopher Ochor, says the State Legislature is irrevocably committed to ensuring the actualization of the Stronger Delta vision of the state government.

Speaking in an interview with Assembly Correspondents in Asaba, Ochor Ochor, said the House had in the last few weeks deliberated on a good number of bills and motions aimed at promoting good governance in the state.

He listed some of the bills to include, the 2020 Revised Appropriation Law Bill, the Delta State Community Security Corps Agency Bill, the Delta State Occupational Safety Bill, the Delta State Violence Against Persons Bill, and the  Delta State Urban Planning, Development and Renewal Bill.

The Deputy Speaker, while represents the Ukwuani constituency in the House, stated that the Assemby also within the short period screened and confirmed nominees for appointment by the Governor, approved several requests from the Executive as well as passed far reaching resolutions on the floor of the House.

The Lawmaker maintained that despite the challenges posed by the Covid 19 pandemic, the Delta State House of Assembly was in synergy with the Executive in enacting laws that would enhance government efforts towards sustainable peace, security and development in the state.

Ochor Ochor who Chairs the House Committee on Legislative Compliance, commended every effort at controlling the deadly virus in the state and assured that the state Legislature would continue to collaborate with the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to mitigate the effects of the pandemic on Deltans.

He called for the cooperation of all critical stakeholders in the Delta State Project, stressing that the Stronger Delta agenda of the Okowa administration would be achieved with the support of the people.

Ochor Ochor commended his colleagues for their collaboration with the leadership of the House in making the Delta State House of Assembly the most vibrant in the country.

The Deputy Speaker appreciated the people of Ukwuani State Constituency for their support and assured them of continued quality representation.
