The Police in Kogi State have arrested one Vincent Omogor, who is said to hail from Asaba, Delta State, over the killing of a popular Supermarket owner, Nicholas Offodile.

The businessman, who owned Chucks Supermarket, Lokoja, was killed along Lokoja – Abuja road by hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers.

Vincent Omogor, who was arrested by security operatives after the killing,  confessed to committing the crime alongside other criminals.

He said they were contracted by their victim’s apprentice who said he was angry with his master for refusing to give him money to treat his sick father who later died.

Omogor revealed that the apprentice gave them Offodile’s travel itinerary, which made it easy for them to eliminate him on Abuja road.

Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba, while parading 28 criminal suspects at the Police Command Headquarters in Lokoja, said security operatives were on the trail of other fleeing assassins, assuring that the long arm of the law would catch up with  them.

The CP said the arrest was made possible by the effort of men of SARS alongside vigilantes from Orehi village in Kogi local government area.
