ERIJO LEADS OFFICE DELEGATION TO BURIAL OF LATE MAMA MARY IDUDU

The remains of a nonagenarian, late Madam Mary Idudu, have been laid to rest at her home town, Okpara Waterside in Ethiope east local government area of Delta State. 

Mama Idudu was the mother of a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Engineer Ejiro Etoroma.


In his usual character of supporting his colleagues, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Implementation and Evaluation, Honourable Johnson Erijo, led a delegation of political appointees and staff of the Office to Eku and Okpara Waterside for a service of songs and final burial rites on Thursday July 9 and Friday July 10, 2020.

In his remarks, Erijo enjoined the children of the deceased to take solace in the fact that their mother lived a fulfilled life as indicated in her biography read by his son, Engineer Ejiro Etoroma, at the service of songs. 

The Special Adviser prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest, and the children the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Responding, Engineer Etoroma thanked Honourable Johnson Erijo for leading a formidable team of the Delta State Office of Project Implementation and Evaluation, Asaba, comprising Executive Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Field Officers and staff on a condolence visit to him and his siblings.

Etoroma described his mother, Madam Mary Idudu, as a sociable role model, a detribalised, peaceful, generous and godly woman, who brought up her children in the fear of God.

The officiating priests at the two occasions also eulogized the deceased in the same vein, and used the opportunity to admonish the children and others present to remember that there was life after death and strive to live peacefully and righteously always.

Some of the officers who accompanied Honourable Erijo to the burial were Executive Assistsnts to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Prince Godwin Ejinyere, Honourable Raymond Edijala and Engineer Godwin Omordon, as well as Senior Special Assistants to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Honourable Jahswill Asaba, Engineers Emmanuel Tebowei, Modungwo Austin, Ossai Daniel, Smart Meka, Christabel Obuiwevbi and Chukwutem Adibeli.

Others are Special Assistants to the Governor on Project Monitoining Architect Agbegha Brigbene, Charles Jombo and Israel Umuerri, as well as Engineers Dennis Onokaye Akaka and Israel Arue both Field Officers. 


The Erijo-led team also included the Office Accountant, Mrs. Ogunje Catherine, Admin Officer Eugene Onwenonye, Joan Okemi, Fidelis Osoh, Mrs Helen Otuya, Nworji Chinelo and Dorothy Nnebuife.

Dr. Godwin Orhadahwe and Mr. Avwerosuo Felix of the Media Unit of the Office were also part of the team.

The burial rites were conducted in line with the COVID – 19 protocols.
