The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command of the Nigeria Police, Mr. Hafiz Inuwa, has said there is no negative report on the operations of the Special Anti Robbery Squard (SARS) in his Command.

Inuwa, in a telephone interview with our reporter on Friday in Asaba, said the officers and men of the Squard were highly disciplined and well trained on the rules of engagement, adding that he was confident in the Officer – in – Charge of the Squard, CSP Masoyi Dadi, who he described as deeply religious and upright.

The CP said a recent media attack on the O/C SARS by an Asaba based Human Rights Activist was misplaced, disclosing that the Special Tactical Command allegedly involved in the bribery scandal being investigated by the said Activist was not under the Delta State Command.

He stated that he was determined, as CP, to watch over a highly disciplined and professional Police Command in Delta, stressing that the Command would continue to encourage its officers and men to abide by the prescribed rules of engagement and be friendly with members of the public.

CP Inuwa said the noticeable drop in crime rate in the state was due to his Command’s consistent review of strategic planning which had paid off, pointing out, however, that a lot still needed to be done as there was no totally crime free society anywhere in the world.

He called on residents of the state to be security conscious at all times, report suspicious movements and volunteer information that would assist the Police in crime fighting and control.
