The new executive of the Ibusa Youth Council has been challenged to draw up a blueprint that will launch the community into global reckoning as the era of sitting on the fence is over.
The Obuzor of Ibusa, Obi Louis Nwaoboshi, who gave the charge today while inaugurating the new executive, said the time had come for Ibusa youths to be counted among their peers in community and national development, stressing that the new executive must galvanize all Ibusa youths towards building a strong and virile community.
The Ibusa monarch said a retreat would soon be packaged for the executive members to provide a platform for the charting of a workable course for the realisation of set goals.
Obi Nwaoboshi particularly commended the Chairman of the Electoral Committee that saw to the emergence of the new executive of the youth body, Honourable Innocent Esewezie, members of his Committee and all other sons and daughters of Ibusa who facilitated the smooth transition to a new executed and urged them to continue to guide the group on the path of success.
He pledged the support of the Ibusa traditional institution, particularly his palace, for the youth council.
The Chairman of the 2020 Ibusa Youth Council Executive Electoral Committee and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Honourable Innocent Esewezie, said it was a painstaking journey, guided and supported by the Obuzor, that produced the new executive after an election adjudged to be the most peaceful among youths in the state in recent times.
Honourable Esewezie thanked the Obuzor for his keen interest in having a well organized youth body in the community and urged the new executive to justify the confidence reposed in it by the entire Ibusa community by living above board it the conduct if its activities.
The President General of the newly inaugurated Ibusa Youth Council, Comrade Ifeanyi Asiodu, thanked the Obuzor and the Electoral Committee for the seamless process that produced the executive and pledged to lead the group to greater heights, particularly in the areas of crime control and youth empowerment.
The highlight of the inauguration was the presentation of a certificate of recognition of the youth body to Comrade Asiodu by the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, represented by a Director in his Ministry, Mr. Ben Morka.
