The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has granted a waiver to the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, to partake in its activities.

The National Chairman of the party, Prince  Uche Secondus, dropped the hint on his verified Facebook page.

“The PDP NWC in exercising the power of NEC in accordance with the PDP constitution met and approved the waiver as requested by the ward executive for Governor Godwin Obaseki to participate in all activities of the PDP including voting and be voted for in any intraparty elections,” Secondus said.

Obaseki on Friday joined the party days after he resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he was disqualified from seeking re-election for allegedly submitting questionable certificates.

Meanwhile, shortly after officially announcing his defection to the PDP, Governor Obaseki has renamed a popular street in Auchi, Adams Oshiomhole Crescent to Bukola Saraki Boulevard.
