The APC National Vice-Chairman (South-South), Hilliard Eta, who is holding forth in the absence of the Acting National Chairman, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has said preparations for the Edo Governorship primary are on course.
Eta, who addressed the press on Wednesday, also declared the seat of the Deputy National Secretary of the party, Victor Giadom, vacant.
Giadom had resigned in 2018 to serve as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the APC in Rivers State, but when his ambition was cut short following the barring of APC from the 2019 poll he returned to office at the National Secretariat without a fresh nomination by the South-South Zone of the party.
16 out of 20 NWC members endorsed the choice of Ajimobi as the Acting National Chairman of the party, while the Deputy National Chairman(North) Lawal Shuaibu; Giadom and the National Vice Chairman(North-East) Mustapha Salihu were opposed to it.
