Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has been commended for keeping the ship of state afloat despite the economic meltdown occasioned by the global corona virus pandemic.
A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ossissa ward one, Ndokwa east local government area, Honourable Chuks Asuai, gave the commendation in Asaba while speaking on the ordering of contractors by Governor Okowa to go back to site and complete their projects.
Honourable Asuai noted that the meltdown, which would ordinarily be an excuse for some other Governors to go to sleep, turned to an opportunity for Governor Okowa to look inward for how best to sustain the tempo of development in the state.
The PDP faithful, who is the founder of Delta Grassroots Network, DGN, said it was heartwarming to note that the Okowa administration had been steadfast in the implementation of its electioneering campaign promises without looking for excuses, adding that sustainable infrastructural and human capital development had remained the hallmark of the state government over the past five years.
He said the prospects of achieving the envisaged Stronger Delta were bright with the people – oriented policies and programmes of government and encouraged Deltans to remain supportive of the Okowa administration in the remaining years of its tenure.
Honourable Asuai praised the commitment of the Okowa administration to winning the fight against the COVID – 19 pandemic through increased testing and treatment capacities across the state.
