The Deputy Chief Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly and member representing the Uvwie Constituency in the House, Honourable Solomon Ighrakpata, has described the death of Chief Tom Amioku as devastating.
Ighrakpata, in a statement said the death of Chief Amioku came to him with rude shock, stressing that the late politician and renowned chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, was a great asset to him in many respects, both in the PDP family, Urhobo ethnic nationality and the Catholic faith.
The Lawmaker stated that Chief Amioku’s impact on the present democratic dispensation that started in 1999 was great, maintaining “As a Special Adviser, Commissioner, Member of the Delta State Executive Council, Delta State Representative on the Board of the NDDC and leader of the PDP in Delta Central, Chief Amioku achieved a lot for the state and his works would remain evergreen.
Ighrakpata, while condoling the entire Amioku family, on behalf of the people of the Uvwie Constituency, prayed God to grant the soul of the man he described as a Gentleman – Politician eternal rest.
The Uvwie House of Assembly member also expressed sadness over the deaths of retired General Orho Esio Obada and Honourable Joyce Overah, saying that their passings were great losses to Urhobo nation and Delta State.
He also prayed for the repose of the souls of the retired General and the former member of House Of Representative and Commissioner in the state, even as he condoled both families on the irrepressible losses.
