CHUKY DANDY REFLECTS ON 1ST ANNIVERSARY OF 2ND TERM IN OFFICE, PROMISES IKA SOUTH PEOPLE BETTER DAYS AHEAD

The Majority Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly and member representing the Ika south constituency Honourable Festus Chukwuyem Okoh,  has, on behalf of his constituents, thanked God for His grace and blessing in the first one year of his second tenure in office.

Honourable Okoh, popularly called Chuky Dandy, also paid tribute to the people of Ika south constituency for electing him as their representative and for the cooperation and support they had given him in the first one year of his second tenure in office.

He noted that the relationship between him and his constituents had been very cordial and impressive over the past one year of the 7th Assembly, promising to use the synergy to consolidate the gains of democracy in the constituency.

The Lawmaker further thanked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, executive, members and supporters for choosing him to representing the constituency on the party,’s platform.

Okoh said since he was elected as  member representing the constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, he and other other members of the Legislature had enjoyed a robust  relationship with the other Arms of Government, which had made the attainment of set goals possible. 

He acknowledged the tireless efforts and commitment of the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to building  sustainable relationships that had engendered harmony, peaceful coexistence and for all the numerous impacts his administration had made towards the socio – economic development of the state.

The Assembly member reiterated that some states that some states had yet to make any meaningful progress due to lack of cooperation and peaceful coexistence between the Legislature and the Executive Arm, and thanked God for giving Delta a Governor that truly understood the value of leadership.

Okoh said he was elected to serve and would continue to build a reliable, strong and united constituency in partnership with his colleagues.

He said the Assembly had passed many people oriented bills already signed into law and resolutions that were currently being implemented, pointing out that the laws and resolutions were centered on Education, Health, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Security, Youth empowerment and Poverty alleviation..

The Majority Whip hailed Governor Okowa for his maturity, tolerance, transparency, accountability and sterling leadership qualities, describing him as a focused leader whose commitment to the socio-economic development of the state was both exemplary and worthy of emulation.

Okoh used the occasion of the anniversary to commend his colleagues in the House for the cooperation, commitment and zeal in the course of working together, and appreciated his political aides and followers for their loyalty, dedication, professionalism, commitment and reliability. 

He said beyond the one year anniversary, the state legislature was thinking deeply how to tackle the current economic difficulties brought on the people by the Corona Virus Pandemic (COVID-19).

The Lawmaker said as world looked up to God for solution to the COVID – 19 pandemic Deltans, especially the people of Ika south should not forget to continue to adhere to government measures on the fight against the pandemic.

While saying that the COVID – 19  economic downturn was global, Okoh sympathised with the people over the difficulties they were passing through and urged them to continue to show understanding and be prayerful with the belief that the challenges would soon ease off.

He expressed gratitude to the people of Ika south for their continued support, prayers and understanding.
