ERIJO RATES OKOWA HIGH AS HE MARKS FIVE YEARS IN OFFICE

The Special Adviser to the Delta state Governor on Project Implementation, Evaluation and Monitoring, Honourable Johnson Erijo, has felicitated with his Principal, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, on the success story of his administration over the past five years.

Erijo, in a statement in Asaba, noted that the Okowa administration showed signs of great things for the people of the state from inception with the establishment of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency to fast track the development of the state’s seat of power.

He said the great work the agency had done so far had changed the face of the state capital, stressing that Asaba could now be ranked among the fastest growing state capitals in Nigeria with enduring beautification structures that would outlive the present administration.

The Special Adviser and Head of the State Project Monitoring Office stated that the Governor had also given a boost to technical education through the upgrade of Technical Colleges in the three senatorial districts of the state and the creation of a Ministry of Technical Education to effectively supervise the institutions

The former representative of Isoko south constituency 2 in the State House of Assembly said the Okowa administration would also be remembered for setting up the Delta State Traffic Management Agency (DESTMA), which had created jobs for youths and helped to instill discipline in motorists, thereby reducing the rate of accidents on the roads.

Erijo said he was greatly encouraged by the way the Okowa administration weathered the storm when the nation’s economy slipped into recession, pointing out that even when some other states were virtually grounded, Delta was on the move paying salaries and executing development projects.

He expressed satisfaction with the Implementation of the SMART agenda of the Governor in his first tenure in office and expressed optimism that the Stronger Delta vision would be attained to guarantee greater equity, justice and fairness in the state.

The Special Adviser used the opportunity to assure Deltans that the State Project Monitoring Office would ensure that government contractors delivered quality projects to strengthen the infrastructural base of the state and give the people value for the state,’s resources.
