Though there was no formal activity to mark the day due to the social distancing rule, the founder and initiator of the Foundation, Honourable (Barrister) Chinwe Monu – Olarewaju, mobilized and interacted with some of the children.

Olarewaju regretted that the children could not enjoy their day due to the COVID – 19 pandemic, but encouraged them to continue to be of good behaviour and shun acts that could impact negatively on their future.

She said the Foundation would continue to focus on the wellbeing of children across the six geo – political zones of the country,, adding that its sensitization programme on COVID – 19 also took into cognisance the need to protect the children from danger.

The interactive session with children  focused on the benefits of open distance and digital learning, which the MOF founder said was the way to go, particularly in this period of COVID – 19 when schools have remained closed for months to the detriment of the children.

Olarewaju, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, sensitized the children on preventive measures to control the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, stressing that they should stay safe always because the existence of corona virus was real.
