A mentally sick man, one Oladele Adeola, 35, was on Saturday lynched by a mob for killing five children of the same parents.
The incident took place about 9:30am at Asa Village in Ojaodan, a Lagos border community in Ogun state.
The madman was said to have used a cutlass on the kids aged between two and five years, all children of one Olaegbe Adeola.
The kids were said to be playing when the madman suddenly got hold of a cutlass and started matcheting them.
The sight of the lifeless bodies of the children provoked villagers who grabbed the madman and set him ablaze.
The spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyem, who confirmed the incident, said the family forcefully evacuated the bodies for burial despite police advice that autopsy be conducted.
