ONWO INTERVENES IN FIXING FAILED IGBIDE – OLOMORO LINK ROAD

Motorists and commuters plying the Igbide- Olomoro link road in Isoko south local government area can now heave a sigh of relief following the intervention of a state legislator, Hon (Chief) Ferguson Onwo, at the weekend.


Onwo, who represents Isoko south 2 Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, had mobilized materials and equipment to rehabilitate the very busy road, which had been in a deplorable condition for months.


The lawmaker donated a trailer load of stones, 50 bags of cement, and cash for hiring of heavy duty construction equipment, ncluding pail-loader, to assist in ensuring that the road was motorable as quickly as possible.


Describing the level of disrepair as colossal, Onwo promised to seek permanent solution to the problem, particularly by ensuring that the road was captured in the next budget of the state.


He noted that the present state of the Igbide- Olomoro link road had adversely affected the socio – economic life of the people, stressing that the road required reconstruction, as it had hindered free-flow of traffic and caused untold hardship to commuters plying the route.


The lawmaker commended the President-General of Igbide community, Dr. Patrick Oboghor, for drawing his attention to the deplorable condition of the road and to the people of Igbide community for earlier repairs on the road.


He acknowledged that many of the people were predominantly famers and required motorable road to evacuate their farm produce, hence the urgent need to fix the bad spots to ease movement.


The President-General of Igbide community, Dr. Patrick Oboghor, expressed gratitude to Honourable Onwo for intervention and pledged the community’s support for him.
