The Onicha Uku community, the home town of the Elumelus, in Aniocha north local government area of Delta state, has received a grand gift of One Thousand Two Hundred (1,200 ) 50kg bags of high quality rice from one of their own and Chairman of UBA Group and Heirs Holdings, Mr Tony Elumelu.
The joy of the people knew no bounds as the trucks bearing the rice made their way into the community on Sunday.
The traditional ruler of Onicha Uku, Obi Raphael Agbamuche, his chiefs, community leaders, women and youths of the community were full of gratitude to Tony Elumelu as they considered the gift a robust intervention in these difficult and uncertain times.
They prayed God to continue to shower eternal blessings on him, his immediate family and the Elumelu dynasty.
Tony Elumelu also gave Onicha Ugbo, the home town of the matriarch of the Elumelu family, 600 (50kg) bags of rice to cushion the effect of the COVID – 19 lockdown on the community.
The gift was said to have been facilitated by the Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor, Professor Sylvester Monye, who is also an indigene of the community.
