
The member representing the Warri north constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Fred Martins, has enjoined his constituents to remain calm and embrace every measure aimed at containing the spread of the deadly Corona virus in the state.
Martins, who is the Deputy Majority Whip of the House and Chairman, House Committee on Sports and Youth Development, gave the advice while speaking on the state government’s efforts at containing the spread of the Covid 19 pandemic in the state.

The lawmaker said the dreaded virus took the world by storm and had succeeded in causing confusion across the globe as no antidote had yet been discovered.
He stated that the only known remedy for now was to stay safe, wash and sanitize hands often and the wearing of face masks in public places, as well as practising physical distancing.

Martins commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for all the measures put in place to contain the spread of the virus in the state, and for setting up a Food Bank to distribute food items to the 25 local government areas of the state, to address the issue of hunger among the vulnerable groups.
The lawmaker appreciated individuals and organisations that had made donations in cash and kind to alleviate the hardship posed by the lockdown in the state, pointing out that in addition to the protective materials he had earlier distributed to his people, he would soon role out more palliatives for his constituents to compliment the effort of government.

Martins, who thanked God for the gift of a baby boy even in the face of the COVID – 19 pandemic, expressed optimism that the present challenges faced by the people would soon be over.
He enjoined the people of Warri north to maintain the peace, be law abiding and hope for the best in the nearest future as God would never abandon His children.
