NWABUOKU PROMISES EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD BANK PALLIATIVES IN WARD 8 OSHIMILI SOUTH

The Councilor representing ward 8 in Oshimili south local government area of Delta state, Honourable Roland Nwabuoku, has assured of equitable sharing of the food items allocated to the ward from the State COVID -19 Response Food Bank.


Nwabuoku gave the assurance at Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba on Tuesday after taking delivery of 210 numbers of 10kg bags of rice, 21 numbers of 100kg bags of beans, some cartons of indomie noodles, spaghetti, among other items.


He said the ward food bank committee comprised of 7 members, working with non partisan individuals, including clergymen, representatives of the Okwulegwe, the elderly, among others.


The Councilor explained that the food items would be distributed to the 7 electoral cells in the ward where they would to be shared to the vulnerable and indigent residents irrespective of political affiliation, tribe or religion.


Nwabuoku stated that the sharing would be closely monitored at the electoral cells by members of the ward committee to ensure that the food items got to the target persons.


He thanked the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for keeping to his promise to make the palliatives available to the people to cushion the effect of the lockdown.


The ward 8 Councilor commended the Chairman of Oshimili south local government council, Honourable Uche Osadebe, for insisting on transparency in the distribution of the palliatives and pledged the continued support of the ward for his administration.
