A stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief (Dr) Henry Ofa, has congratulated the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro, on his 52nd birthday anniversary.
Ofa, in a statement on Thursday, described the Deputy Governor as an accomplished politician who had shown genuine commitments to the peace and development of the state.
He said the sterling leadership qualities, political adroitness and tactical disposition of Otuaro had remained significant factors in the maintenance of peace in the hitherto restive Niger Delta region.
The PDP chieftain noted that as the Chairman of the Delta State Advocacy Committee Against Vandalism of Oil and Gas Facilities, the Deputy Governor had consistently proven his mettle by sowing and nurturing the seed of peace in Delta State and the Niger Delta region, adding that his efforts had yielded numerous dividends in the revenues and economic shape of Delta state.
He added that Otuaro’s successful extension of the peace and conflict resolution component of the SMART Agenda to the creeks and coastal areas of the state spoke volume of bravery, courage and patriotism, in appreciation of the fact that no meaningful development could be achieved in an atmosphere of rancour and hostilities; hence he had devoted much of his spirited effort at sustaining peace.
Ofa, who once served on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DEAOPADEC), observed that the leadership prowess of the Deputy Governor remained just as impeccable as it was when they served together on the board of DESOPADEC, noting that Otuaro placed a high premium on the welfare of the people.
The PDP stalwart prayed God to continue to bless Otuaro with good health, long life and strength to serve the state and humanity.
