Two fully loaded 18 sitter passenger buses were on Tuesday intercepted at the Okwe junction, Asaba, by operatives from the State Anti Cultism Unit of the Nigeria Police Force.
One of the buses was said to be heading to Onitsha, while the other was Umuahia bound.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command. Onome Onovwakpoyeya, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, who confirmed the story, said the buses were escorted out of the state through the Benin road on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Mr Hafiz Inuwa.
When asked how the buses found their way into the state, beating all security check points, including the Ali Ifekede border post in Ika south, the PPRO simply said ” that’s why they were turned back.”
