COVID – 19: Lagos, Ogun, FCT Get Extension Of Lockdown

As the initial lockdown ordered by the federal government in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun state ends today, President Muhammadu Buhari has announced an extension of the measure by another 14 days to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the affected states and the FCT.


Buhari made the announcement in a nationwide broadcast on Monday evening.
He said the extension was necessitated by the spread of the COVID – 19 with increased new cases being recorded in the three places.


The President initially declared a 14 day  lockdown on March 29 to check the spread of the virus.


Lagos currently has 176 out of the 323 cases recorded so far in the country, Ogun 7 and FCT 56.
