LOCKDOWN: Chika Foundation Donates To Vulnerable In Ndokwa East

To cushion the effect of the two week stay at home directive of the state government as a measure to curb the spread of covid 19 pandemics, the Chika Ossai Foundation has made a cash donation of over three million naira to no fewer than 1,000 most vulnerable indigenes of Ndokwa east local government area.


Making the donation, the founder, Honourable Chika Ossai, said it was to assist those who lacked the capacity to cope with the effect of the lockdown, adding that the money would be shared to the target persons in all the villages in the Council area.


Chika Ossai, who is also the Delta state Commissionwr for Trade and Investment, commended the PDP leader in Ndokwa east Chief Godswill Obielum, the Commissioner representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality in DESOPADEC Honourable Ikechukwu Akozor and the SSA to Governor Okowa on Community Matters Comrade Gavin Ugbome for supporting the project.


While calling on well meaning Deltans and corperate organizations to donate food and cash to the people at this period of lockdown, Chika Ossai  said nothing was too small to mitigate the sufferings of the people.


The commissioner appealed to the people to strictly comply with the precautionary measures earlier reeled out by experts and the state government in order to stay safe from COVID – 19.


He said although Delta state had recorded a case of Covid 19 and one death from the virus, there was no cause for alarm as the state government was on top of the situation.


Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries one of the distribution coordinators, Theodore Obocha, thanked Chika Ossai, Chief Godswill Obielum, Ikechukwu Akozor and Comrade Gavin Ugbome for the donation and food items, saying they would go a long way in cushion the effect of the lockdown on the vulnerable.


He urged other well meaning individuals and political office holders in Ndokwa east to emulate the gesture.
