LOCKDOWN: Onwo Donates Cash To Mitigate Impact On Isoko People

The representative of Isoko South 2 Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Ferguson Onwo has donated half a million naira towards curtailing Corona virus in Isoko nation.


The amount was handed over to the Committee set up by leaders of Isoko nation to coordinate and manage donations for the fight against Covid 19 in Isoko North and South local government areas.


Onwo said the gesture was in addition to his earlier efforts since the outbreak of the virus in Nigeria, including sensitization of the people on the deadly Covid 19 and other awareness campaigns.


The legislator. who is the Chairman, House Committee on Housing and Women Affairs, said besides the cash donation, he was also reaching out to numerous  indigent and vulnerable constituents to help cushion the effects of the lockdown in the state.


He harped on the need for every stakeholder within and outside Isoko nation to support the Bishop John Aruakpor led Committee in achieving the onerous task before it.


Onwo said the restriction of movement order by the state government as a measure to control the spread of the Corona virus in the state was a step in the right direction and commended his constituents for obeying the order

.
The Assembly member explained that leaders of Isoko nation were not unmindful of the impact of the government’s directive, hence the setting up of the Committee made up of respected indigenes of the Isoko ethnic nationality.


Onwo maintained that the work of the Committee towards containing the dreaded virus in Isoko land and cushioning the effect of the lockdown  would compliment the state government’s efforts.


He  charged his constituents to remain law abiding at all times, saying that though the period was inconveniencing, it would soon come to pass.
