LOCKDOWN: Agbobu Hails Elumelu, Chikezie For Relief To Constituents

Two – time Minister of State, Defence And Agriculture, Dr. Chris Agbobu, has commended the member representing the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Minority Leader of the House, Honourable Ndudi Ekumelu, for donating food items worth millions of naira to his constituents in Aniocha north, Aniocha south, Oshimili north and Oshimili south local government areas.


Dr. Agbobu, a political leader in Aniocha south and member of the Delta State Advisory Council, gave the commendation at his residence in Ogwashi – Uku, while taking delivery of the items for distribution through the ward and community leaders in Aniocha south.


He also commended the member representing  Aniocha south in the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Austin Chikezie, for supporting the fight against the corona virus in the Council area, assuring that the food items, which include 100 bags of rice, 150 bags of beans, 75 bags of garri, 75 cartons of Oil, 75 cartons of Tomatoes, and 10 bags of Onion, would be equitably distributed to those they were meant for.


Dr. Agbobu, who is also the Onihe of Ubulu – Unor, recalled that the two legislators had adequately sensitized the people on the recommended preventive measures against the coronavirus, adding that the Aniocha/Oshimili people had complied with the sit at home order of government as law abiding citizens.


The items were later distributed to the various wards and communities in Aniocha south through the Council area’s Food Bank Committee, which was expected to work with the traditional rulers to ensure that the food items got to the target vulnerable and indigent persons.


Some members of the Food Bank Committee thanked Honourables Ndudi Elumelu and Austin Chikezie for the generosity, describing them as good ambassadors of the people.


They commended Chief Agbobu for his sterling leadership qualities, stressing that he had lived above board as a political leader in Aniocha south.
