COVID – 19: NPDC Donates Medical Items To Delta State Govt

The Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) on Tuesday donated some medical items to the Delta State Government in support of the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the state.


Making the donation at the Asaba Specialist Hospital, the Managing Director of NPDC, Mr Mansur Sambo, said it was in line with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility philosophy.


Sambo, who was represented by the Manager, Community Relations of the company, Mr Dahiru Abubakar, stated that the items were mainly for use by medical doctors and nurses who would be in the first line of action in managing any positive case of the pandemic.


He said further interventions would come in demonstration of the company’s responsiveness to current critical the situation.


Receiving the items, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mordi Ononye, thanked NPDC for the donation and promised that they would be put to good use.


Ononye said though Delta had yet to record any case of Covid – 19, government would continue to strengthen its activities to ensure the safety of Deltans.


Information Commissioner, Mr Charles Aniagwu, his Oil and Gas counterpart, Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba, were among government officials who witnessed the event.


The items include cartons of hand sanitizers, hand gloves, personal protective equipment and face masks.
