COVID – 19: NGO Sensitizes Ugborodo Community; Distributes Protective Materials

A non governmental organization, the Eric Igban Foundation, has admonished communities in oil rich Ugborodo community, in Warri south west local government area of Delta State, to adhere strictly to preventive measures against the dreaded Corona Virus pandemic.


The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Dr Andrew Omagbemi Igban, gave the charge at the flag off of awareness and sensitization campaign on Covid 19 and distribution of protective materials in the locality.


In his remarks, Igban said theĀ  Foundation was committed to creating the enabling environment for future generations, hence the distribution of the protective materials to help safe guard the lives of the people.


The Chairman, who is also an Executive Assistant to Governor Okowa on Community Development, enjoined the people to stay safe by adhering to all preventive measures on the Covid 19 pandemic as recommended by the World Health Organisation.


The former PDP Youth Leader and Peace Ambassador recipient, commended the efforts so far made by the Delta State Government to prevent the spread of the virus to the state.


Igban appealed to the people to abide by the directives of government on the Covid 19 pandemic and avoid unnecessary travels, maintain social distancing and make use of protective materials given to them.


He noted that the writing materials, chairs and tables presented along with the protective materials were to aid learning process for children during the long holiday as a result of the stay at home order over the outbreak of Covid 19 in the country.


The beneficiaries thanked the Foundation for the gesture and called for prompt government intervention in provision of food and other necessities at this trying times, as the prices of goods had risen beyond proportion due to the lockdown directive of government.


Items distributed include clinical hand gloves, face masks, hand sanitizers among others.
