WAR AGAINST COVID – 19 IN DELTA TAKEN TO MOTOR PARKS

A Task Force to ensure the safety of passengers from corona virus in public and private motor parks in Delta state has been inaugurated with a charge to ward off the dreaded virus from the parks.


The chairman, Delta State Management Committee on Public Motor Parks and Land Transportation, Chief Francis Arhiyor, who gave the charge in Asaba on Thursday while inaugurating the Task Force, said globally recommended safety and preventive measures against COVID – 19 must apply n all motor parks in the state.


Arhiyor said the Task Force should work in line with the measures put in place by government to keep the state safe from the virus, insisting that the safety of passengers in all motor parks across the state mist not be compromised.


He specifically asked the Task Force to ensure that hand washing apparatus and hand sanitizers were readily available for use by drivers and passengers before embarking on a journey, adding that the rule on social distancing should be obeyed by avoiding over loading of vehicles.


The Management Committee chairman added that drivers and passengers should be encouraged to wear face masks and hand gloves to enhance greater safety in the motor parks.


The Task Force for Delta north is headed by Comrade Sunday Chiazor, Delta central by Comrade Christmas Otosare and Delta south by Comrade Moses Umukoro.


The Secretary of the Management Committee, Mr Benjamin Ebrusitere and the Deputy Chairman, Mr Amaechi Igwuba were present at the inauguration.
