A former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, has commended the Isoko Positive Agenda (IPA) for its determination to promote the Isoko culture, especially the efforts made so far to stimulate the Isoko language particularly among primary school pupils in Isoko land.
Macaulay, who also commended the group for maintaining a non-partisan stance in the conduct of its affairs, noted that IPA encouraged the introduction of Isoko language as a subject in all the primary schools in the Isoko nation, just as it collaborated with the management of Quest FM, Ughelli to institute a weekly Isoko language quiz.
The former SSG, and now Director General, Warri/Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency, who was Special Guest of Honour at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of IPA, held in Oleh, appreciated the group for its commitment to ensuring that Isoko as a spoken language was sustained for the future generations.
He said promoting Isoko language was laudable and urged all Isoko sons and daughters, irrespective of political leanings, to support the initiative.
The newly inaugurated Chairman of IPA, Chief John Araka disclosed that the Isoko language project had come to stay, and solicited support to consolidate it..
