The President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmad Lawan has said the 14 million out of school children in the northern region is a time bomb waiting to explode and must be urgently addressed.
Lawan, who was speaking at the just concluded 2020 Argungu Fishing Festival in Kebbi state, called on the public and private sectors to join forces to ensure children in the north were educated.
He described the security situation in the country as a test from God, noting, however, that insecurity was reducing and Nigerians must give gratitude to God.
According to him, Nigeria was richly endowed with natural resources that needed to be harnessed and thanked God that the fishing festival held after eleven years of insecurity.
He commended the Armed forces for having to fight battles for the country.
