The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Delta State Council, has paid a condolence/solidarity visit to Oghara born grassroots politician, Dr. Henry Ofa, over the death of his mother – in – law, Mrs Florence Ebami, who has already been buried.
Chairman of the Council, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, who led the delegation, said it was gladdening to visit a friend and landlord, not to mourn with him but to celebrate with him for the glorious departure of Mama and to appreciate God for a successful burial.
Ikeogwu thanked Ofa for the warm reception given the delegation even at short notice and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased whom he noted lived a fulfilled life and departed at a ripe old age.
He used the medium to commend Dr Ofa for his sterling personality, describing him as a gentle, unassuming, charismatic and intelligent politician deserving of more opportunities to serve the State.
Ikeogwu appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to look in the direction of Dr Ofa, even as he posited that his quality services were still needed to move the state forward.

Responding, Dr Ofa paid tribute to his late mother in-law, describing her as a wonderful woman.
He said Mama’s memory would forever live with the family because of the moral values she inculcated in her daughter, which made her a special gift and blessing to him and his family as a wife.

The PDP chieftain appreciated the NUJ for the show of care and love towards him, adding that as a professional teacher, his closest friends had been those in the media.
He also appreciated all that graced or supported his mother in-law’s burial, including former Governor, James Ibori, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Honourable Ben Igbakpa, Chris Onogba, Chief James Augoye, Barrister John Nani, Austin Ayemidejor, Andy Uwajeyan, Malcolm Oteri, Chiefs of Oghara, among others.
