DELTA TRADE & INVESTMENT COMMISSIONER, CHIKA OSSAI, BRIEFING NEWSMEN ON MARKET PROJECTS

Illegal occupants of Eke market Kwale, in Ndokwa west local government area of Delta state, have been advised to seek alternative places to sell their wares or have their makeshift stores demolished by Wednesday next week.


Delta State Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Honourable Chika Ossai, gave the advice while inspecting the ongoing Eke modern market project.


Chika Ossai stated that the state government would want all ongoing market projects across the state commissioned before the end of the first quarter of this year, adding that nothing to the contrary was acceptable.


The Commissioner appealed to the traders to cooperate with the contractor to enable him complete the project on schedule, insisting that they must comply with the demolition notices served them to avoid unpleasant consequences.


At the Ozoro modern market in Isoko north local government area, the Commissioner frowned at the slow pace of work and charged the contractor to immediately return to site and continue with the job.


Chika Ossai warned that the state government would not tolerate any contractor that would frustrate the good intentions of delivering democracy dividends to the people.


The Commissioner also inspected the Isiokolo modern market project in Ethiope east local government area where he commended the contractor for a job well done.


Chika Ossai, who was accompanied by  the Ethiope east Council Chairman, Mrs. Faith Majemite, said the modern market project, with forty lock up stores, over one hundred open stores with toilets and modern facilities was progressing according to specifications. She disclosed that the Isiokolo modern market would soon be commissioned by the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.


Chika Ossai was accompanied on the visit by the Permanent Secretary in his Ministry, Mr Ebikpade Aloba ,the Special Assistant to the Commissioner on Media Mr Chuks Eboagwu and other management staff of the Ministry.
