A former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, has commiserated with the Akpojene family of Otor Igho and Idodo-Umeh family of Olomoro both of Isoko nation over the death of their patriarchs.
In separate condolence visits to the bereaved families, Macaulay, who is the Director General of Warri/Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency (WUEDA), sympathized with them paying glowing tributes to the departed great Isoko men.
He said Akpojene was a devoted and loyal leader to the Isoko people, adding that he was a mentor who gave hope to many during his life time and would always be remembered as a patriotic Isoko leader.
For the late Idodo-Umeh, Macaulay said he lived an accomplished, having made his mark in politics and academics, with two doctorate degrees to his credit.
The former SSG urged the bereaved families to be consoled with the fact that their patriarchs lived fulfilled lives, and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Chief Gregory Akpojene, a teacher, farmer and one time President General of Isoko Development Union, died at the age of 83, while former publisher, academic, entrepreneur and politician, Dr. George Idodo – Umeh, died at 80.
