An appeal has gone out to beneficiaries of the federal government’s N – Power scheme not to embark on a planned nationwide protest over the delay in the payment of their January allowance.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Mrs Sadiya Umar Farouq, who made the appeal in Abuja, said arrangements had been concluded to effect the payment as soon as possible.
Farouq blamed the delay on the transfer of the scheme from the Office of the Vice President to her ministry, which she said raised some data reconciliation issues currently being sorted out.
