A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oghara, Ethiope west local government area of Delta state, Dr. Henry Ofa, has said the emergence of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the new Chairman, South South Governors’ Forum did not come as a surprise.
Dr. Ofa, while reacting to the choice after wide consultations by the Governors of the region, said nothing could be less rewarding for a man who had diligently served his people as Governor, building bridges of peace and unity, while spreading development projects to every nook and cranny of Delta state.
The former member of Board of the Delta State Post Primary Education Board, PPEB, commended the South South Governors’ for identifying the sterling leadership qualities in Okowa and assured them that the choice would impact positively on the region and its people.
He congratulated Senator Okowa on his deserving emergence, which he described as an appropriate reward for hard work, stressing that it was a great honour to Delta state.
