Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has said the state is a praying state and will continue to partner with the church in praying for the leaders and against insecurity in the country.
Okowa stated this on Saturday at a Special Annointing Service by the publisher of OUR DAILY MANNA, Bishop Chris Kwakpovwe, in Asaba.
The Governor, who was represented by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori, said Delta believed in the efficacy of prayer and was enjoying prevailing peace because of the hand of God in the affairs of the state.
He said the Asaba Special Anointing Service could not have come at a better time than now in view of the worsening security situation in the country and prevailing global challenges.
Okowa noted that Bishop Kwakpovwe had demonstrated, through his daily devotional, OUR DAILY MANNA, that the word of God cuts across borders, adding that his strong desire to propagate the gospel and win souls to the kingdom of God had not gone unnoticed.
The Governor acknowledged Kwakpovwe’s contribution to humanity since he started the publication of OUR DAILY MANNA and prayed God to continue to use him to heal the sick, give hope to the poor and preach the Good News to the people.
Bishop Kwakpovwe used the well attended Asaba Special Anointing Service to pray for the government and people of Delta state.
