Premier League Champions, Manchester City, have been handed down a two year ban by UEFA, for falsely inflating their sponsorship deals and revenues between 2012 and 2016.

The ban is contained in a statement by UEFA on Friday, as an outcome of a hearing held on January 22, 2020, by the Adjudicatory Chamber of UEFA Club Financial Control Body, CFCB, chaired by Jose da Cunha Rodriguez.

The club has also been fined 30 million euros for serious breaches of its licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations.

If the ban goes without a successful appeal against the decision, Manchester City will not play in any European Football competition for the next two seasons.
