The Delta State House of Assembly will on Wednesday, 19 February, 2020, hold a public hearing on the Delta State Maternal and Perinatal Deaths Surveillance and Response Bill.
The Public Hearing, which is at the instance of the House Committee on Health, is scheduled to hold at 12noon at the Press Centre of the Assembly Complex, Okpanam road, Asaba.
A statement by the Chairman of the Committee, Honourable Austin Uroye, has requested the relevant agencies and stakeholders to submit 12 copies of memoranda on the bill to the Secretary, House Committee on Health on or before Tuesday, 18th February 2020.
The statement particularly calls for active participation of the Delta State Ministry of Health, the Health Management Board, Delta State Contributory Health Scheme, Delta State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, the Nigeria Medical Association and the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, among others, at the public hearing.
The Delta State Maternal and Perinatal Deaths Surveillance and Response Bill was committed to the House Committee on Health for further legislative action after it was read the second time on the floor of the House.
