Nigeria’s Green Chambers on Wednesday adopted a resolution urging the federal government to declare a State of Emergency in the nation:s security sector.

The resolution, which came through a motion on a Matter of Urgent Public Importance moved by the Chief Whip, Muhammed Munguno, from Borneo state, also mandated the House’s Committees on Army and National Security to investigate the immediate and remote causes of last Sunday’s Boko Haram attack in Auno, which claimed 30 lives, including those of a baby and a student of the University of Maiduguri.

The House of Reps viewed as worrisome the senseless loss of lives and property to insurgency and banditry in parts of the country and called on the federal government to take a drastic action to end the menace.
