A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ward one Ossissa, in Ndokwa east local government area of Delta state, Ugo Nwokolo, popularly called ‘ Over Do ‘, has appealed to the state government to tar the less than six kilometers access road in the community.
‘ Over Do ‘, who was speaking to newsmen shortly after an enlarged meeting of the ward at the weekend, said Ossissa community was also in dire need of electricity to make life more meaningful to the people and reduce rural – urban migration.
He said the community had remained peaceful and supportive of the Okowa administration and deserved to benefit from the development strides of government, stressing that access road and electricity were the pressing basic needs of Ossissa people.
The PDP faithful, who commended Okowa for the spread of development projects to every nook and cranny of the state, urged the Governor to remember Ossissa people for the massive vote they turned in for PDP in the last general election.
‘ Over Do ‘, however, appreciated Okowa for appointing some indigenes of the community into political offices and pledged the continued support of the community for the Governor and his administration.
He called on Ossissa people to remain united in the political family of the PDP, and be patient with government in its quest to leave Delta state stronger than it met it.
