Monday’s commissioning of the Appeal Court, Asaba Division, by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, is a major milestone in the development of the state.

The Chairman, Oshimili south local government area chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, stated this while speaking on the significance of the Appeal Court complex to the development of the state.

Ogbueshi Okonji said the approval of the Asaba Division of the Court and the subsequent execution of the Court complex, an e – library and Justices quarters by the Okowa administration within a period of two months, were indicative of a government determined to leave the state better than it met it.

He said the Court would not only bring justice closer to the people, but also reduce cost of litigation by saving litigants the cost of travelling to Benin city for their Appeal cases with counsels and family members.

The party chairman added that the risk associated with travelling would also be addressed by the presence of the Appeal Court, while job opportunities would be created for judicial officers and other categories of staff.

Ogbueshi Dada Okonji commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his foresight and dexterity which had added great value to the development of the state in all sectors and urged Deltans to continue to support him to do more.
