CLERIC URGES PUBLIC SERVANTS TO SERVE WITH THE FEAR OF GOD

It has been asserted that sincere gratitude to God and carrying out duties with the fear of God come with great rewards.


The Senior Pastor of the Four Square Gospel Church , Sanctuary of God’s Mercy, Zonal Headquarters Asaba,  Pastor Innocent Afobunor made the assertion during a thanksgiving at the instance of the Permanent Secretary,  Ministry of Urban Renewal, Mrs Charity Ehimen.


Pastor Afobunor, who preached on ” the power of an intimate relationship with God ” said  everyone had many reasons to thank God, especially for the gift of life.


He warned Christians not to arrogate powers to themselves, but should fear God and be exemplary in any position they found themselves in life.


The cleric commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for maintaining the Government House chapel as a vibrant place of worship and urged others in key positions of authority to put Christ at the centre of their lives.


Pastor Afobunor congratulated the PS on her elevation and urged her to use the office to affect lives positively and preach the gospel of Jesus.


The Permanent Secretary, Mrs Charity  Ehimen, said her promotion to the peak of her career was by divine providence and thanked Governor Okowa for the confidence reposed in her, promising to give her best.


In their remarks, Delta State Head of Service, Mr Reginald Bayoko and the Permanent Secretary Government House and Protocol, Mr Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje, described Mrs Ehimen as a dedicated public servant and urged her to remain a role model to the younger generation.
