DELTA PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION OFFICE BEGINS MONITORING OF PROJECTS

The Delta State Office of Project Implementation and Evaluation on Thursday flagged off the monitoring of projects with a visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Issele Uku where four blocks of staff quarters and toilet facilities are being constructed.

The monitoring team, led by Engineer Daniel Ossai, a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, also visited the State Traditional Rulers Council secretariat and the State High Court complex under construction in Asaba.

At the NYSC blocks of twin 3 bedroom flats project, Engineer Ossai, who called on contractors handling various government projects across the state to ensure quality execution of such projects, expressed satisfaction with the progress of work.

He, however, told the contractor to put finishing touches to some parts of the staff quarters before the commissioning of the project.

Conducting the inspection team round,  the site engineer of Davoris LTD, handlers of the projects, Engineer Austin Akpoku, commended the team for the visit.

Engineer Akpoku assured that the observed structural defects on the project would be addressed, disclosing that the project would be delivered on Saturday January 25, 2020.

The team appreciated the pace and quality of work at the State Traditional Rulers Council’s secretariat complex and High Court complex in Asaba, affirming that the state government would get value for the money spent on the projects.

Engineer Timothy Bernard of Tippet Nig. LTD, the firm handling the Traditional Rulers Council’s secetariat project and Engineer Gbenga Fakokunde of Ladisgold Project LTD, handlers of the High Court complex, assured of their commitment to executing quality jobs that would be the pride of Deltans.

Engineer Fakokunde said the High Court complex would be completed in March 2021, while Engineer Timothy assured that the Traditional Rulers secetariat would be delivered in April 2020.

The monitoring team also included Engineer Andrew Obiazi and Prince Mano Edoghor, among others.
