The giant developmental strides of Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, particularly the reconstruction of the Nsukwa – Ejeme Aniogor road and the construction of the Ogwashi Uku – Ubulu Unor road, among others, has earned him a vote of confidence of elders and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Aniocha south local government area.

A two time Minister and Onihe of Ubulu Unor, Chief Chris Agbobu, also got a vote of confidence for giving purposeful direction to the party in the area in his capacity as an elder and leader.

This was at a meeting of the elders and leaders convened by Chief Agbobu and hosted by the member representing Aniocha south in the State House of Assembly, Honourable Austin Chikezie, in his country home at Ejeme Aniogor.

In his opening remarks, Chief Agbobu, who was former Minister of State for Defence and Agriculture, said the meeting was necessary in order to strengthen the PDP in Aniocha south in the new year and renew the bond of unity among the three clans in the local government area.

He commended the elders and leaders for their individual and collective contributions to the growth of the party in the past and urged them to remain committed to advancing the cause of the party for greater feats in future elections.

Chief Agbobu hailed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his sterling leadership qualities which had endeared him to many Deltans and congratulated him on his recent legal triumph at the Supreme Court.

Others who spoke, including Chief Clement Ofuani, Chief Jerry Osai, Honourable Rosemary Utomi, Newton Izediunor and Honourable Michael Oloamiwe, stressed the need for the sustenance of equity among the three clans of Ogwashi, Ubulu and Nsukwa in the zoning of political offices as that had ensured political stability in the area.

The host, Honourable Austin Chikezie, thanked the elders and leaders for their support for the Governor and the party and pledged to remain a loyal and dedicated party member and a true representative of the Aniocha south constituency in the State Assembly.
