The Chairman, Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, Obi Emmanuel Efeizomor the second, has said the traditional institution is the nucleus of governance at all levels.

Obi Efeizomor, who is also the traditional ruler of Owa Kingdom, in Ika north east local government area of Delta state, stated this in Asaba in an interview with newsman.

He stated that just as they were custodians of custom, culture and tradition in their communities, traditional rulers had become rallying points to top government functionaries and security agencies, who always sought royal blessings and wisdom on some critical issues.

The monarch said though non partisan, traditional rulers in the state, as major stakeholders, had done a lot to provide the enabling environment for good governance to thrive by ensuring sustainable peace at the grassroots and by extension in the state.

Obi Efeizomor noted that the success of the Stronger Delta vision of the Okowa administration was largely dependent on peace and unity, stressing that there had been relative peace in the state with the avoidance of intra and inter communal crisis through the help of traditional rulers in collaboration with other stakeholders.

The Owa king said the State Traditional Rulers Council was happy with the developmental strides of the Okowa administration which had benefitted all parts of the state, pointing out that the leadership style of Governor Okowa had helped to strengthen the bond of unity among Deltans.

He used the opportunity to congratulate the Governor on the reaffirmation of his mandate by the Supreme Court.
