The Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Legislative Matters, Honourable Efe Ofobruku, has hailed Wednesday’s January 8, 2020 Supreme Court revalidation of the re-election of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the duly elected Governor of Delta State.
Speaking to newsmen in Asaba the state capital, Ofobruku noted that the unanimous verdict of the Supreme Court Justices describing Chief Ogboru’s suit as lacking in merit, wasting of the court’s time and a mere academic exercise, further re-enforced the grassroots acceptance of the Governor by Deltans.
Ofobruku said the Judiciary had again proved itself strong in the protection of democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria, adding that he had no doubt about the outcome of the case because it was clear that Deltans voted overwhelmingly to re-elect Senator Okowa.
The Special Adviser said the verdict of the slSupreme Court would go a long way solidifying the confidence of the masses in the judiciary.
Ofobruku urged the APC and Ogboru to accept the verdict in good faith and join hands with the Governor to move the state forward.
He poured encomium on the Governor for his developmental strides in the state and urged Deltans to continue to support his administration.
