The Deputy Chief Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Solomon Ighrakpata, has charged Chief Great Ogboru and leaders of APC in the state to join forces with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in his effort to develop the state.
Ighrakpata, who represents Uvwie Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Special Duties, also called for the support of other Deltans in that regard, stressing that it was important for all to shun acts capable of causing disunity in the state.
The Lawmaker stated this in a congratulatory message to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the leadership of the people’s Democratic Party, PDP in the state over Wednesday’s Supreme Court Judgment that reaffirmed the re-election of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as Governor of Delta State for another tenure of four years.
He described the victory as one for democracy and the rule of law, maintaining that it was a triumph over anti democratic forces.
Ighrakpata said the 2019 governorship election in Delta State was won overwhelmingly by the PDP, saying that the candidate of the APC challenging the outcome in court was unfortunate and ill advised.
The Legislator said the Supreme Court verdict had finally laid to rest all the legal battles and the accompanying distractions, saying that the Governor would be better focused to deliver more democratic dividends to Deltans.
While pledging the support of Uvwie people for the Governor, he prayed God to continue to grant the Governor the wherewithal in his efforts at entrenching good governance in the state.
