The reaffirmation of the re-election of Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa by Justice Centus Nweze and six other Justices of the Supreme Court has been described as an endorsement of the will of Deltans.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Implementation and Evaluation, Honourable Johnson Erijo, while reacting to the verdict, said it was instructive of the trust and confidence of the people in Governor Okowa.
Honourable Erijo said it was shocking to him and indeed every right thinking Deltan that the APC candidate, Chief Great Ogboru, chose to challenge an election he woefully lost, having won in only two out of the twenty five local government areas of the state.
He commended Justice Nweze and his colleagues for throwing Ogboru’s appeal into the trash can for lacking merit and amounting to a waste of the time of the Apex court.
Honourable Erijo rejoiced with Deltans on the deserving legal victory, which he said had laid to rest the distractions intended to truncate the Stronger Delta vision of the Governor and commended Delta APC for congratulating the Governor on the reaffirmation of his mandate.
The Special Adviser called on Chief Ogburu to be courageous enough to join hands with the Governor to move the state forward.
