The Founder of Champions for Christ Ministries, Asaba, Reverend Samuel Akpan – Isong, has spoken against prophetic declarations that have no spiritual backing.
Reverend Akpan – Isong, who was fielding questions from newsmen in Asaba, said some prophesies by self acclaimed prophets had become worrisome and laughable, leaving the people gullible.
He said Ministers of God should focus on the scripture, have deep knowledge and understanding of the word of God and allow themselves to be led by the spirit to make prophetic declarations so that such prophesies could come to pass.
The clergyman said it was childish for anyone to prophesy that there would be volcanic eruption or earthquake in parts of the world or hunger in the land, pointing out that those were conditions dependent on climate change and economic variables.
Reverend Akpan – Isong expressed optimism that all would be well with Nigeria in 2020 if citizens, particularly the leaders, could genuinely draw close to God, shun corruption and do things right.
