WISDOM HAS BEEN MY DRIVING FORCE AS LGA PARTY CHAIRMAN – Dada Okonji

The Chairman, Oshimili south LGA chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, has said leadership is not about age but wisdom.

He made the assertion while hosting elders and youths of his Umu – Iyibu village, Umuezei Quarters Asaba to a Christmas party.

Youthful Dada Okonji said leading the party in an enlightened LGA like Oshimili south had not posed any challenge because wisdom had taught him to be open in all his dealings as Party Chairman.

He said he had always consulted widely with critical stakeholders of the party before making decisions, adding that whatever was due to the party in the area was usually laid on the table for all to see.

The Party Chairman said as a young man he believed in the ability of youths to invigorate a system, stressing that working with them, with appropriate recourse to party leaders, elders and women at the ward level, had remained a strong point of his leadership.

Dada Okonji spoke on the inspiration he had drawn from the leadership style of the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, explaining that he had imbibed the virtues of equity, fairness, justice and humility which the Governor always emphasized on.

He thanked PDP faithful in Oshimili south for their continued support for the party, which had drowned the influence of opposition in the local government area, culminating in landslide victory for the party in all elections.

The LGA Party Chairman assured the people of Oshimili south that the Okowa administration would do more to raise the bar of development in the area in the new year, citing the ongoing beatification of Asaba as an indication that the Governor meant well for the state capital.

The Ochendo of Okpala Ukwu Umuezei, Ifeanyi Ikemefuna, in his remark, commended Dada Okonji for his leadership qualities which had endeared him to the elders of his community and thanked him for using his position to impact positively on the people.
