The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Police Command, Mr. Adeyinka Adeleke, has ordered the deployment of over seven thousand (7000) officers and men, comprising Conventional Police and other Tactical Teams of the Command with adequate necessary logistics, to provide security in churches and other public places of interest in the State during the Christmas and new year celebrations.
The CP, in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, warned all unfriendly forces of all descriptions, including kidnappers, militants, cultists and other disgruntled elements that might want to cause break down of law and order before, during and after the festive period to have a rethink or face the full wrath of the law.
He enjoined law abiding residents of the state to go about the celebration in a peaceful manner and to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies in their efforts at ensuring hitch free celebrations
The Police Boss advised residents to report any suspicious person or object to the nearest Police Station or call the Command control room phone No. 08036684974 for immediate action.
