Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has congratulated former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, as he turns 57 on Thursday December 19.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifejika, the Governor commended the former Senate helmsman for his remarkable contributions to the development of Nigeria and the legislature when he served as Chairman of the 8th National Assembly.
He noted that Saraki’s role as Director-General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council for the 2019 general elections was very remarkable in spite of the party not winning the presidential election.
The Governor noted that the National Assembly under Saraki was known for respect for the rule of law and court orders, adding that he fought to ensure the independence of the legislature.
Okowa thanked God for Saraki’s life which had been marked with outstanding accomplishments and enduring fulfillment and prayed God to continue to strengthen, guide and prosper him with robust health and many more years of happiness.
